TURNING TO FALL

TURNING TO FALL

“AUTUMN IS THE HUSH BEFORE WINTER” - FRENCH PROVERB

As the seasons change and the world around us transforms its colours, it is important to acknowledge the shift taking place. As the days get shorter, light recedes and we move inward entering a new time of reflection and a place of inner growth. This year, the Equinox occurs on Monday, September 23rd when the sun enters Libra.

On the day of the Equinox, the balance between dark and light is perfectly aligned as day and night become equal. This balance creates a harmonic energy that intensifies our ability to create and manifest. Release, let go, and allow the transition of autumn to lead you into an inward place.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO PREPARE AND CELEBRATE

Nurture your body and soul. Focus on what makes you feel loved and safe.

Clarify your intentions and focus on your goals. It’s a time of new beginnings and opportunities.

Cleanse your space to make way for new energy to enter. Get rid of clutter and smudge or burn incense to set new intentions and goals.

Meditate and spend time on spiritual practices. Create an altar or decorate an existing altar with symbols and colours of the new season. Rust, orange and yellow candles with gourds, nuts and seasonal objects remind us of the beauty and spirit of the fall. Add an apple or two to your altar to honour your ancestors and to connect with ancestral energy.

Spend time in nature. Go for a walk and take in the glory of the leaves turning colour.
